COLUMBUS, OHIO – Law enforcement officials are looking for a suspect who burglarized a northeast Columbus pharmacy and stole a number of restricted medications.
The Columbus Police Department said the robbery occurred at the Discount Drug Mart which is situated in the 5500 block of North Hamilton Road. The crime was committed at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Local police officials say the suspect came into the pharmacy and offered the clerk a note saying that the store was in the process of being robbed. Following the handing off of the note, the suspect then leaped over the counter, yanked out a gun and gave the pharmacist a bag. The pharmacist then proceeded to unlock the restricted medication and dump it into the bag. He then handed the bag back to the suspect who promptly raced out of the store.
According to the police, the man in question is a black male, between 5’5” and 5’7” tall and about 130 to 140 pounds. The man also had some facial hair and was wearing a black hoodie, gray sweatpants, black shoes, and a white and black BB cap that had a red logo. The man carried a small, black-colored, semi-automatic handgun.
