Mini recently announced three special-edition models in February 2022. Moreover, it is not stopping there. They just unveiled a fourth car which is calling Brick Lane Edition that does draw inspiration from London’s East End. It will give the two- and four-door variants of the Hardtop Cooper S more flair, in fact.
Mini Hardtop Features
The Brick Lane Edition does stand out from the standard Hardtop visually. It will feature a White Silver Metallic exterior paint. In addition, plus a Soul Blue roof panel, black door mirror caps, and chrome trim. There is also Soul Blue, Frozen Blue, and Mint graphics on the hood. It does add a finishing touch to the look while creating a link between the car and the bricks. That is where Brick Lane does get its name from. Moreover, Mini does adding 17-inch wheels that are painting black. There are decals above the rocker panels and edition-specific badges on both sides. Relatively minor are these changes. However, they do give the Mini a cool look.
Front Sports Seats
Also, the leather-upholstered and heated front sport seats are among the highlights in the cabin. There is a long list of standard features which also include a panoramic moonroof, piano black interior trim, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, and a Harman-Kardon surround-sound system.
You won’t find bricks or blue accents in the engine bay. Power comes from a stock, Cooper S-sourced 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s turbocharging to develop 189 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. It spins the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, but a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic linked to a pair of shift paddles that is available at no extra cost.
In March 2022, there are Mini dealers across the nation that will begin receiving the Hardtop Brick Lane Edition. Also, the pricing does start at $36,525 for the two-door model. It will be $37,525 for the four-door. The figure does include a very reasonable $850 destination charge.
Also, this is not the first time that a British brand did unveil a special-edition model which was inspired by London’s East End. Also, in late 2021, Triumph did channel the “vibrant, custom-classic motorcycle culture of London’s East End” into the head-turning Street Twin EC1 Special Edition.
