Do you have an upcoming auto transportation service booked with us and you are worrying about how to make sure your car will be ok? Here, we explain to you all that you need to know to make sure you and your car are properly prepared for auto transportation!
Clean the Inside and Outside of Your Car
Now, you may be thinking, why on earth do I have to clean my car just to ship it? Well, the answer is different on the inside than it is for the outside. You will want to clean the inside of your car so that you eliminate the risk of damage to any interior parts of your car. For example, if you have any sort of packages or bags that you leave in your vehicle typically, when the vehicle is in transit, you run the risk of it moving around and banging around the inside of your car. However, you can avoid this by making sure the inside is cleaned out of any and all loose items!
Now, when it comes to cleaning the outside of your car, you will want to do this so that you can have an accurate idea as to your car’s condition before you ship it. This is incredibly important as it will allow you to identify any existing scrapes, scuffs, dents, etc. You want to know what, if any, damage has already been done to your car so that you can properly identify anything that may appear after your transportation service.
Check Your Car for Leaks and Tire Pressure
Two things you never want to ship you cars with are gas leaks and low tire pressure. Before you send off your vehicle, make sure there is no leak in the engine or gas tank and assure the tire pressure is in the right range for your car. In order to keep your car and the rest that are being shipped with you safe, be sure to check all of these to assure no harm comes from a leak.
Leave Gas Low
Many people do not know this, but you actually want to ship your vehicle with a lower tank of gas. Shipping with a gas tank of around ¼ tank is the sweet spot for our auto shipping! It is enough gas in case of an emergency but does not significantly weigh down the vehicle, nor add extra risk.
